I’m appalled that after previous complaints that this is never up to date! Fir Lane in Royton (the most closed road in the world) is again closed without warning for a week. I have a colleague that travels 30 miles including the M60 that encounters less disruption than I have to

      Dear Cllr Sykes

Fir Lane is on the roadworks bulletin forwarded to you today; the road closure is for an emergency sewer repair being carried out by Amey on behalf of United Utilities commencing Monday, 30 April, expected to last for eleven days, or until work is complete.

Their contact details are Bryan Andrew (Amey) 07894601589

I advise you contact the contractor then and get them to change the signage that says 5 days !

          Dear Cllr Sykes

The contractor did inform us that the estimate time of the works to complete would be around 11 days. In passing today the signs do say 5 days, presume Contractor had assessed the work involved which would take 5 days in total. I can confirm that the contractor has completed the work and the road has reopened today.
