Storm Lilian update Oldham Borough.

A quick update from overnight regarding Storm Lilian.

Council teams have been out across the borough dealing with a number of issues and making them safe:

There have no reports of any injuries and the most significant issues are from the following areas:

  • Trees down outside Civic Centre / Rochdale Rd – road cleared and parks team are on route to sort tree debris
  • Tree down on highway Salmon Fields – parks team and Environmental Services clearing
  • Tree down and exposed cables at 257 Hollins Road (Famous King George Pub) – GM Fire and Rescue on site with highways to cordon off and make the area safe, ahead of utility services reconnecting.
  • Tree down and blocking road Greenacres Road, near Lynwood Drive – Environmental Services handling

Reports suggest the winds will continue for most of today, therefore while the teams are out and about, if you see further debris, blocked roads, damage or other community concerns, please report them through to highwaysops@oldham.gov.uk so the teams can mobilise support as soon as possible.
