Congratulations to all students receiving their results in Oldham today

Congratulations to all students receiving their results in Oldham today.

Leader of Oldham Liberal Democrats councillor Howard Sykes MBE has congratulated students in Oldham Borough who are receiving GCSE and VTQ results today.  Students will be deciding on colleges and apprenticeships following their results in GCSE courses as well as Vocational Technical Qualifications (VTQs) Level 1 and Level 2.

Councillor Sykes said, “A massive congratulations to every young person receiving GCSE or VTQ results today and good luck with what comes next, whether you’re off to college or sixth form or looking for an apprenticeship.”

Support for students is available through the National Career Service – a free resource that can help young people with career planning.

Councillor Sykes said, “If your results weren’t quite what you were hoping for, remember that you have options.  Firstly, don’t panic.  Speak to your school or college.  They may be flexible on entry requirements.  They will also be best placed to give you advice on whether re-sitting while studying for your next qualifications is possible.”
