Will this be before or after the other roadworks around Shaw are completed? eg bottom of Blackshaw Lane, Turf Lane Royton ( which means Salmon Fields diversion is a nightmare!) I am not hopeful of a postitive answer to my question as I can’t see any plan to many of the recent inconveniences the general public in the Shaw/heyside/ Royton area have had to put up with but I WOULD LIKE A REPLY PLEASE.

I understand the gas main works will NOT be complete. My reaction was simlar to your I suspect and I have been told it is better to do it in the school holidays.

If the Gas Work will not be completed AS PROMISED by August 10th then it’s complete madness to start work on Crompton Way. You are supposedly elected to represent the people of Shaw!!!!! Can I suggest you start actually doing your job!!!! I am also fed up with the “its better doing this during school holidays”

I agree and have been working to make sure that maddness did not happen.

However until it is confimed that was the correct position at the time I posted my reply.

And that is just what i have been doing since i shared the information I got about Crompton Way on the 3 July.

The Crompton Way works have now been put back a week to the 17 and Shaw Road will reopen some time on Sunday 9 Aug PM.

Who has told you this. I would like to contact them personally. Have you made any representation to planning or to the council on behalf of your constituents?

        • howardsykes says:

Been on the case with this for some time and as you will see from other posts and up dates Shaw Road will reopen and the Crompton Way Works have been put back a week until 17 Aug.

My information comes from the highways part of the Council.
