In a move that would make the leaders in North Korea and Russia proud, the so-called ‘Independents’, who are the controlling group, have kicked the Liberal Democrats off all committees on Shaw and Crompton Parish Council; something not even Oldham Labour would do.
Shocked Liberal Democrat Councillor Hazel Gloster said, “Democratically elected councillors have been prevented from doing the job they were elected to do.” Hazel added, “There will be no challenge, no scrutiny, no alternative suggestions or working together for the best interests of Shaw and Crompton.”
This is democracy in action by the so-called ‘Independents’.
Totally disgusting what’s going on.
All parties should work together for the sake of Shaw and Crompton.

Agree 100%, but others don’t see it like that I am afraid. They even threw out two of my elected colleagues who were observing a meeting to discuss something in secret.
They have no interest in democracy. The whole idea of a parish council or any committee is to get views from all parties then come to an agreement. But also need to have experience & common sense. We have enough fascits leading the country.
That is it, elections over, lets work for what’s best for Shaw and Crompton and its community. Others clearly don’t think so and I can only assume that is why they have voted us off all the committees of the Parish Council.
